THE Marcus Revilla Blog!

Welcome to our little corner of the world. We hope you find our blog to be informative as well as fun. We are hoping to find this blog as additional information other than our website and to offer up to date photos, whether they're weddings, seniors or anything else that crosses our path. I'm not the best at keeping the blog going every single day due to our load here at the studio, however, we will make an effort to keep it going on a consistent basis. We invite our current and potential brides to enjoy this blog and share your comments with us.

Just a little bit of trivial information about myself. I am a huge die-hard Aggie fan...always have been, always will be. I'm not the person who knew they wanted to be a photographer since the age of 3 months. I was the one who laughed at the yearbook staff in high school. I love animals and have 3 German Shepherds and 2 cats. If I wasn't a photographer, I would love to be a professional motorcycle racer. Yes, I love motorcycles. I have a BS in biochemistry and find myself sometimes dabbling in my old science textbooks from college; yes, I still have them.

We certainly invite you to check out our website and if you have any questions about any of our services, please don't hesitate to ask. Take care!

As the holidays are approaching, we prepare ourselves for many of the traditions…football, turkey, Christmas Carols…and the ever-so-dreadful, but exciting:  Black Friday!!!  Well, for the first time, we’re going to have a shopping day like never before.  We are going to be placing our holiday special on Wed, Nov 26 detailing what the special is going to be.  If your event has expired and you’ve been wanting to order prints, please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to reactivate the online site from November 26th-29th.  Requests MUST be in no later then November 24th.  Sorry, no exceptions.  There will be a discount code given along with the specifics of the sale.  This window will allow us to get those orders ready just in time for Christmas.  Please contact us if you have any questions!

Thanks!

Tracy + Ted…No Sleep Till Brooklyn!!!

Some of y’all might remember Tracy and Ted; they were one of our New York couples.  We had previously done Tracy’s sister’s wedding and were very happy to do carry on the MRP tradition with Tracy.  The wedding was held up in Austin at the Mansion on Judge’s Hill.  What was crazy was the fact that the wedding was held on a Monday evening.  At the end of the night, you would’ve never known this.  Blind Date kept the floor packed (btw, this is one of our favorite bands) and maintained an energy that only they can create.  Barbara Hearne was the wedding coordinator and did an excellent job, as usual.  The bride’s sister, Brett, brought her creativity to the wedding by designing some great announcements (they can be seen in the slideshow).

I actually lost my voice at this wedding and it was quite funny watching a lot of people trying to help me out with different remedies…thanks guys!!!  We definitely loved working with this couple and especially with the fact that we had carte blanche throughout the day.  Can’t wait to head back to NYC and spend some time with Tracy and Ted!!!

Annalisa + Greg are married!!!

Hey guys!

It’s pretty bad when one of your favorite brides gets after you for not keeping your blog up to date.  Well, case in point, is Annalisa.  She informed me that she loved keeping up with the old blog, however, I needed to keep posting more and more…so I promised her that when our new blog came into play, her wedding would be the first I would post.  TADA!!!  Here it is.  Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Annalisa’s wedding was in June, so that goes to show how busy we’ve been over here at the studio!  Anyways, Greg and Annalisa had a gorgeous wedding with a ceremony at the beautiful Little Flower Basilica.  This is a beautiful church with a lot of charm and detail.  I definitely recommend this church for your wedding.  It was great getting to know the both of them before their big day; to the point where they have become close and true friends.  The reception was held at the Westin Hotel downtown.

The wedding was filled with emotion and excitement.  We definitely enjoyed shooting the wonderful day!  We love you guys!!!

Enjoy!

Senior Models Wanted!!!

We are currently looking for Senior Models to represent us in various schools around the city and area!  If you know someone wanting some cool images for their senior images, send them over.  We will be looking for 2-3 students from each high school.

Thanks and Peace!

No New Albums…

Hey everyone!

We are at the point this year where we can no longer take any more album orders for this year.  We are crunching time to meet every album for Christmas delivery so that way we start the new year album free and start from fresh.  We will not take new orders till the new year.

Thanks everyone!

Erica rocks her bridal session!

Wow!  Are we not the luckiest studio in the world with the most awesome brides?  We had the exciting opportunity to photograph Erica.  You might remember her from her previously posted engagement session with her lucky fiance, John.  We headed throughout the area looking for different backgrounds and textures that would compliment her dress and personality.  Let’s just say Erica is a blast to work with and she’s tall, too!  I found myself having to readjust my shooting due to her height!  Lol….

Well, enjoy and leave some feedback from what you think!  Everyone wish Erica a wonderful wedding on November 11, 2008!!!!

Callie’s Bridal Session!!!

Wow…this is one great bride to work with!  Her wedding is coming up soon in November so we decided to head out to one of the Missions and have at it!  She was a great sport and up for anything which made it easy on me…I was very excited with the session that I had to post it before her big day!  Her flowers came to us courtesy of Botanika and the talented Melissa White and Callie’s mom was a great sport throughout the session!  We had the honor of photographing Callie’s brother’s wedding some time back and now we’re delighted to be part of hers.  Enjoy and leave some love!

Baby Sofia!!!

It’s not often I have the opportunity to photograph children, even though I would love to do more, but we had a special opportunity to photography Sofia. She is a very happy little girl and it shows in her photos! A princess in the making! A very easy subject to work with and fun too!!!

Enjoy!

Erica + John…a November wedding!

From what we’re seeing, the couples we are having for November are going to be awesome! We spent a great session walking around Alamo Plaze grabbing some great shots…and a little time getting to know them, as well! We are looking forward to a great wedding with Erica and John and enjoying what looks to be an exciting day! Enjoy!
